Use your own OpenAI key

Run Agent C on your own OpenAI API key instead of the included one: how to add it, how it is stored, and how to remove it.

Agent C uses its own OpenAI key by default, and that is included in your plan. If you prefer, you can add your own key and Agent C will use it for every run on your account.

  1. Create a key at platform.openai.com/api-keys.
  2. In the app, open Connections, then Model key, and paste it under Your OpenAI API key.
  3. Agent C checks the key with OpenAI before saving it.

Your key is stored encrypted and never shown again; the app shows only its first and last few characters. Choose Remove my key to go back to Agent C’s own key.
